First edition of this account and analysis of a volcanic eruption near the town of Bad Schmiedeberg (Saxony), in 1669. The work includes (penultimate chapter) discussion of the nature of the substances thrown up, with citation of, inter alia, Galileo, while the last section discusses the effect of volcanic discharges on public health.

Light spotting and browning, minor flaw to (blank) gutter of first leaf, some leaves cut at a tilt, with top lines correspondingly shaved, traces of strip of marbled paper at inner margin; in a modern cream purpose-made folder. Occasional contemporary or early pagination from inclusion in a sammelband.
